All I can say about David is that he is truly a one of a kind individual that shines no matter what he does or where he is.
I arrived on Saturday morning July 18 to this wonderful little neighborhood that going through a transition. There's countless homes being renovated, just like East Nashville where my friend Quinton lives, and the neighborhood is looking better and better as time goes on. David's home is so full of his personality and since he loves animals it's they are his life. He has rescued his dogs and cats and they all live semi peacefully with his birds, fish and chickens.
The ladies of Skidmore Place!
The one that really caught my attention was Tank the Great Dane. He loves his daddy and will wait for him on the couch if he goes outside.
There's also his Eclectus which get a lot of time out of their cages and he has made sure that his home is really set up for all of their comfort. They each have their own personalities and some love to land on you and check everything out.
We hit the ground running after feeding all the creatures and he showed me his beautiful city.
I got to stand right smack in the center of Indianapolis on Monument circle.
A lot happens around this circle and it seemed it's a favorite spot for newly married couples to have some of their pictures taken here as we witnessed on out stop their.
This is the downtown where they have a pair of Peregrine Falcons nesting at the top of the Red Keystone building. A big wood nest box is provided for them at the very top of the building and if you look close you can see it on the ledge to the left side way up there. You can also see one of the Falcons flying to the right of the building.
The architecture in this city is just beautiful.
We then headed on over to an art and antique dealer market known as Midland. To say I was in heaven is an understatement. Anyone that knows me knows how much I love old items and this was two huge floors of hundreds of individual spaces filled with them.
It is housed in this old warehouse which used to be a sash and door manufacturing facility.
No sooner than we walked in the pictures started!
It was so much fun I made David take me back because I had to have one item and that was a very old Woody Woodpecker paper mâché mask. So off we went on Sunday with David's friend Mitchell to have some more fun and try on new potential outfits!
We were so silly with the mask that the young lady assisting us had to try it on when she brought it off its perch. You know me, I had to take a picture of her and told her she could see it on here since I would be going back again on this trip. So here it is.....
Another great little jewel in this city is the Garfield Park Conservatory. I found out how much Mitchel is into plants and very knowledgeable about them. He told me this is a great little place to come and visit in the winter times and I can see how it could brighten anyone's blues at that time of year.
We walked through it and all I can say is WOW. The orchids were amazing along with all the trees and koi ponds.
With Mitchell, a beautiful young soul that is going places. I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet you and hopefully get to see where your journey takes you.
Thank you David for showing me this beautiful jewel.
We also had some wonderful meals around town.
The in thing around town seems to be the man bun as you see behind me. This one had a twist to it in that it was braided in front. I like it but not sure how practical it would be in the winter time!
The city is also beautiful at night and there is a lot for people to do.
Thank you for the wonderful time David. I will miss you, keep being the great individual you are to many and until we get another moment in time stay safe and well.
Much love my friend!
